Bicentennial Thanksgiving Celebration
The first American foreign missionaries Dr. Adoniram and Ann Judson arrived in Yangon, Myanmar on July 13, 1813. Thousands of Christians from different parts of Myanmar and some from USA joyfully held the Bicentennial Thanksgiving Celebration in Yangon from Dec. 5-8, 2013. Dr Adoniram Judson has had a great impact on Christians in Myanmar, and we do not have adequate words to express our sincere thankfulness to him and his family. They left their comfortable home, possessions and loved ones to come to an unknown, ignorant and uncivilized people, and identified with those people so that they might win them for Christ. To God be the glory!
Sixth Biennial Graduation of SEABC:
By the grace of God, the sixth Biennial Graduation was joyfully held on Dec. 13, 2013 at 1:00pm – 3:30pm at Judson Church Building, Yangon University Campus. The graduation was graciously and joyfully attended by around 370 people and it went very well. Twenty-six students were graduated. By God’s grace, 136 students had graduated within twelve years (from 2002 to 2013) and almost all of them are serving the Lord as evangelists, pastors, missionaries, Bible teachers, Sunday School teachers, directors of children ministry, Christian books translators, etc. To God be the glory!
Christmas Gifts & Gospel Outreach in slum (Tharketah) area:
By God’s grace, bro. Ken, bro. Khual, bro. Sein Tun (missionary in Tharketah area) and SEABC students distributed Christmas gifts (bags of rice, clothing, toothpastes, toothbrush, toys, etc.) to over 200 families (non-Christians) in a slum area of Yangon on Dec. 8, 2013. Gospel tracts (Christmas message) also were distributed along with the Christmas gifts.
Literature Ministry:
We are so glad that the book “Knowing and Doing” (Author: John McQuoid) had been translated into Myanmar language and published in December, 2013. SEABC students and church leaders thankfully received the book. Praise the Lord!
Leaders’ Bible Seminar:
Leaders’ Bible Seminar was held at Canaan Gospel Chapel on Dec. 14, 2013, from 9:00am – 3:00pm. The seminar was attended by over 70 people from different churches from different places in Myanmar. Mr. Bill Coyle and Dr. Dale Schreiber from USA graciously and effectively led the Seminar.
Evangelistic Meeting (Crusade):
The Evangelistic meeting (Crusade) was effectively held at the City Hall of Dala town on December 28th, 2013. The first session was held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and Mr. Chit Po from Yangon preached the Gospel. After the first session, all attendants had dinner together in the City Hall. The second session of the meeting started at 6:00pm and finished at 8:00pm. Mr. Kap Cin Thang preached the Salvation Message (The Main Purpose of Jesus Christ’s Coming to the World). The meeting was enthusiastically attended by over 300 people and over a hundred of them came to faith in Christ (the Lord knows the exact number who indeed accepted Him).
Please pray with us for the spiritual growth of those who accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. Please pray also for the effectiveness of some believers who will do follow-up works for those new converts.
